Description of Duties
Internship with IPEC provide an opportunity for students who are pursuing a course of study in fields related to child labour to:

- Increase their understanding of relevant issues at the international level by involving them directly in the work of IPEC;
- Gain practical work experience in the field of child labour and its links to other related fields, such as education, youth employment, gender, agriculture, mining, etc.

Under the supervision of a professional in IPEC, typical assignments for interns include:

- Review and analyse literature
- Undertake research in a particular subject area
- Organise data and documents
- Develop tools and guidelines
- Draft reports and conduct case studies
- Participate in on-going projects implementation and/or evaluation

Required Qualifications
Education Interns should have completed graduate and/or post graduate studies or be in
the final year of undergraduate studies in related fields.

Experience
Experience in research and/or academic/voluntary work in the related area(s) would be an advantage.

Languages
Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish. Knowledge of the second language or Portuguese would be an advantage.

Additional Information:
Applicants for internships can be of any nationality.

An intern should not be a close relateive of a serving ILO official.

Interns based at headquarters in Geneva without any external source of funding will receive CHF1,500 per month as a stipend.
